The Printer's Proofs Arrive for Maybe A Whale!

ree

I received the printer's proofs for 'Maybe A Whale' so that I can take a look at what the art will look like after it is printed! The book printer press sends a smattering of pages to the publisher and myself, letting us check on the colors and such in a hands-on version. (Which can look much different than the on-screen version! Especially when the screen version is RGB and the printed version is CMYK.)

This is a large roll of paper with a few of the pages printed on it in a coated and un-coated version. They try to choose pages that have a variety of contrasts and colors.

I even got out my camping lantern to take a closer look 😝.
